Llantwit Major or Cwm Colhuw Beach is my local spot, while it's not going to win any top beach awards it's tall limestone cliffs provide spectacular views, on a clear day Minehead can be seen across the Bristol Channel. The area has a diverse mix of habitats from the Afon Colhuw which flows through the meadow in the base of the valley to the gorse lined clifftops and rocky foreshore. The beach is popular with surfers and windsurfers and the beach cafe serves up the refreshments or provides a place to shelter when the good Welsh weather rolls in.
