Barry is probably most well known for Barry Island with the fun fair, arcades and the home of TVs Gavin and Stacey, however my favourite areas are the slightly less well travelled spots. Like Porthkerry Country Park with the stunning viaduct and the rocky foreshore of the Cold Knap. Being a geologist my favourite spot of all is the beach at Bendrick Rock. One of the Geological Society of London's 100 Geosite's, and South Wales's only Geosite, Bedrick Rock is famous for its 220 million year old dinosaur footprints which can be found in the bedrock with a little searching.
